D’ Why

In January 2001, Estrada was ousted as president of this country. I was one of those who truly believed that the country would benefit from the change in leadership since Arroyo was not known to be a slacker and was thought to be honest and principled.

But just a few months after Edsa Dos, there were already whispers about her husband’s alleged meddling in government deals/projects as well as allegations of corruption perpetrated by her Cabinet. I thought it was just sourgraping on the part of the Estrada supporters. But the allegations persisted and the people became so divided that she promised not to run for the presidency in 2004. But she had to go back on her promise since according to her God asked her personally to run for the good of the country! WOW!

The opposition fielded another Estrada clone…popular but lacking. She won the presidency or so we thought. In 2005, a CD of her conversation with then COMELEC Commissioner Garcillano, asking for assurance that she would win the election by at least one million votes, was played on the radio. Her Presidential Spokesman, Bunye, held a press conference on that same day (as far as I can recall), waving two CDs, saying that he had in his possession two tapes: the “fake” one that was played on the radio and the “original” one that recorded the President’s conversation with a certain “Gary”. Then when that did not wash, she went on national television to say “SORRY” for her inappropriate actions. The cover up was so obvious that people demanded for her resignation. Some of the members of her Cabinet resigned. Garcillano mysteriously disappeared. He was able to go out of the country without the knowledge of our immigration authorities…a first class disappearing act indeed! But she was saved from impeachment by her god and minions (D’ Tongressmen).

A string of accusations followed the election cheating scandal. One was about her husband’s alleged secret bank accounts worth hundreds of millions under the name of Jose Pidal. Then there was her son and brother-in-law supposedly regularly receiving “jueteng money” from jueteng lords…the Venable contract (Gonzalez’s life and death play-acting)…the “Fertilizer Scam” (Jocjoc Bolante’s Great Escape to the USA)…Philhealth Card scandal (the infamous memorandum from Duque to Arroyo plotting how to use OWWA funds for the election)…Northrail scam…Swine scam…ZTE scandal (Jun Lozada Expose)…500 thousand peso bribes to governors and congressmen (thanks to Governor-Priest Panlilio)…secret wheeling and dealing with the Chinese government for juicy loans…and so many more. But the most despicable of all is the sudden rise in unexplained and unresolved disappearance and killings of journalists and political activists.

Her response to all these allegations? She issued EO 464, calibrated preemptive response (CPR), Proclamation 1017, MC 108…all of which directives and policies violated the country’s Constitution according to the Supreme Court!

Now who in his right mind would not be outraged by these gross, immoral offensives taken by her administration? Only those who do not have any love for this country!
